After living near the Alps for more than two years, Bridget finally went skiing this past winter. Two days at Auron followed by a day at Isola 2000 proved to her that the Alps are worth the trip (especially since it's only about an hour and a half drive from Nice). Both ski areas, which are considered nothing special in France, were wonderful. The most obvious difference was that there were lots of on-hill dining options. Rather than one packed lodge where you search to find a table to eat your overpriced burger, there were lots of huge decks facing the sun and the prices were similar to those in town. Plus, the runs were great and not at all crowded. Definitely would recommend it to anyone interested!
